Default lock a cell

Select the entire sheet and right click, select format cells, select the
protection tab, remove the tick in the 'LOCKED' block and press ok.
Now select the cell/cells you want to protect and right click again, select
format cells, select the protection tab, add the tick in the 'LOCKED' block
and press ok.
Now go to tools and select protect sheet (you can password protect it, but I
usually leave the pass word blank, it's less to remember), only those cells
with the tick in the "LOCKED' block will be locked from being modified.

If you want to unlock the sheet, go to tool select unlock sheet and select
OK (or enter in the password if you have used one)
