Default formatting vertical lists to horizontal columns

Try this:

Select the vertical range of cells

From the Excel main menu:
<edit<copy

Select the first cell of the new horizontal location
<edit<paste special
Check: Transpose
Click the [OK] button

Then erase the original range of cells

Is that something you can work with?
