Default .xlt files change from 300 dpi to 600 dpi when printing with MODI.

Why does my .xlt image changes from 300 dpi to 600 dpi when printing a .xlt
file to a Microsoft Office Image Document driver? When I print a .xls file
my tiff image that is produced is 300 dpi but not for my .xlt image. Why is
that and is there a way for my .xlt image that is produced to be 300 dpi
instead of 600 dpi. My MODI settings are set to print 300 dpi.
