Is it possible to use conditional formatting to highlight more than three
conditions?

In XL 2007, yes. In earlier versions, no.

The answer to that question depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

Default conditional formatting

A user where i am employed hsd a spreadsheet. She wants to be able to
highlight (with dif colors) more than 3 groups of numbers starting with
certain number sequences.
