Default MS Excel 2003 CTRL+F missing hits

When Searching for a particular piece of data, with the simple CTRL+F
function, Excel fails to identify the data and gives the "MS Office Excel
cannot find the data that you are searching for Error"

This instance happens quite a few times and when the data was found
manually. Once the data was identified, then Excel recognises this and
provides the match during the next search

Maybe you had more than one cell selected the first time? Then Excel looks in the selected cells only.

Thanks Niek for your response,

However....This is not the reason why this happend and I did check if there
was any particular set of cells were selected.

Like for Instance this happens after a few searches have happened and then
suddenly one is missed. This for my kind of Job is extremely crucial, since
my team handles huge volumes of MS Excel data and one of the most important
is the CTRL+F function,Since teh job involves checking for the same data in
more than one Excel files(30 - 40 files at a time)
