Default improve help samples in excel 2003

Excel in Office 2003
All the samples in Excel help are wrong

example : TEXT(value,format_text) that does not work !

should be: TEXT(value;format_text)

this happens through all help examples,
could somebody tell me who got fired for such mistakes?

Hi Nick

Yes this is the case.
I have often seen cases where the OP says a solution posted by one of us
using either US or UK settings does not work for them.
The semicolon versus the comma as a separator is usually the "culprit".
Amending the formulae to use whatever their local regional separator is
inevitable solves the problem.

Not on my machine (International English)

=TEXT(Value,Format_Text)

works fine.

Didn't know that regional settings affected formulas? Anyone?
