Maybe it's a hardware problem--monitor/connections/video card???
Or a video driver problem. (get a fresh driver from the manufacturer). I remember someone at work having a fan too close to the monitor. The motor caused interference on the monitor. Moving the fan further away corrected the problem. (Any mechanical device plugged into the same outlet as that monitor???) (Just guesses.) monir wrote: How do I suppress jiggling / pulsating Excel screen, mouse pointer, task bar Ready, etc. ?? -- Dave Peterson |

Dave;
Nothing is connected to the computer, except the monitor and the printer. No mechanical devices nearby. I'm new to this MS Office Online Discussion Group Forum, and I'm not sure how much details I'm allowed to provide. Please advise. Thanks. You're allowed to provide as much or as little detail as you see fit.
But to be honest, I've never seen any posts complaining about this. You may not get much help, but it can't hurt to post. (Most regulars don't like to see HTML posts or attachments to emails or multiposting (same post sent multiple times to different newsgroups).) But other than that, it's pretty much open season on everything excel related. (And for privacy's sake, don't post anything that you wouldn't want seen on your local supermarket's bulletin board.) monir wrote: Dave; Nothing is connected to the computer, except the monitor and the printer. Dave;
For more details, please see my reply (2/3/2005 7:39 PM PST) to Frank Kabel under: "How Can I make a cell flash in Excel". I've also replied somewhere else, yet I couldn't locate my other reply or even the relevant post I replied to ! (Is this what the contributers refer to as Cross-post and USENET designation ??) As I indicated earlier, I'm a new user of this forum, and I'm learning how to navigate the site! I apologize for any protocol violations, if any! Would appreciate any suggestions you might have regarding Suppressing the "jiggle" in Excel screen, and activating "Paste" and "Paste Special" commands while the OnTime method is on. Thank you. You may want to post a more specific question about the paste/paste special when
OnTime is on. Is it that the clipboard seems to be emptied? If yes, then lots of macros will kill the clipboard. I don't know away around it. And second: if you're going to hang around any of the MS newsgroups, you may want to dump the web interface and connect directly to the newsgroups (using Outlook Express???). Saved from a previous post: If you have Outlook Express installed, try clicking on these links (or copy and paste into MSIE). news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...ic.excel.setup news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel.misc news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...heet.functions news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...excel.newusers news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...el.programming (and a few more for MSWord) news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof....docmanagement news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...word.word97vba news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof....word.newusers news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...ord.pagelayout news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...ord.vba.addins news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof....vba.beginners news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof....customization news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...rd.vba.general news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof....vba.userforms news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof....word6-7macros (You can always connect to more later) Here are some links that explain it better: Chip Pearson has some notes written by Leonard Meads at: http://www.cpearson.com/excel/DirectConnect.htm David McRitchie's notes at: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/xlnews.htm http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/oe6.htm http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/oe6nws01.htm Tushar Mehta's notes at: http://www.tushar-mehta.com/misc_tut...e_ng/index.htm And if you're looking for old posts: Or you can use google (maybe a few hours behind) to search for stuff you've posted (and find the replies, too) http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search http://groups.google.com/advanced_gr...Excel*&num=100 Ron de Bruin has an excel addin that you may like: http://www.rondebruin.nl/Google.htm monir wrote: Dave; For more details, please see my reply (2/3/2005 7:39 PM PST) to Frank Kabel under: "How Can I make a cell flash in Excel".
