Default Data Refresh Issues when linking Access queries to Excel

Hello,
I have an excel workbook with several charts setup. I have one hidden "Data"
worksheet that is linked to an Access database query. The worksheet needs to
be refreshed weekly to update the weekly charts.
The user will be utilizing the Access database for other tasks. There is a
function in the database that will open the Excel workbook to allow the user
to view charts.
The first thing the user needs to do when the Excel workbook opens is to
"Refresh" the data.
Excel will not allow the data to be refreshed because the Access database is
already open.
Is there any around this without closing the Access database?
Thanks,
