Default Format & calculate time sheet template

I'm building a time sheet template to calculate hours worked each day and pay
period. My problem is setting up cell formatting to recognize a 3pm to
1:30AM shift, that will work in the calculations.

Default Format & calculate time sheet template

Try this:

=MOD(B1-A1,1)

With start in A1, and end in B1.
