When my boss tries to type a quotation mark, it does not appear nor does the
cursor advance until you press the spacebar. How can I correct this?

Hi Zeno,

excel understanding the quotation " as a code to line the text to the right
side of the cell, as ' to the left and ^to center

you can type "" (twice) or
'"

Hi,
A leading single quote is invisible. It tells Excel to treat the following
characters as text.
If you want to see a single quote, enter two single quotes.
