Default Window XP update has caused excel to not operate

I recently allowed an automatic "updates are ready for your computer"
process. After a couple of weeks, I tried to access my excel program it
appears to have been deleted. When I use the desktop icon, it begins an
installation process and then looks for an installation disk (which I don't
have).

Any suggestions?

Search for EXCEL.EXE on your hard drive.

Dave,

Thanks for the information. I found the *.exe file, but the program is asks
for my "Windows XP Professional Disk". Unfortunately, I don't have the
original disks as I received this computer used from a family member out of
state. When I cancel out of the installation request, the program eventually
starts up and I can work in it, but some maximize, minimize, etc features are
not there.

Thanks again.
