Default Checking balance template in MS excel

What do I need to do to have a checking balance template in MS Excel? I have
seen it work great but have not been sucessful. I am using, D as payments, G
as deposits, and H for balance, just a simple quick reference.

Default Checking balance template in MS excel

There are many such templates and such around.

For your situation, try this, assuming things start at row 2 (with titles in
row 1) and continue down the sheet:

In H2 enter your starting balance/balance forward
in H3 enter =H2-D3+G3
and fill the formula down the page
Formula translates roughly as
current balance = previous balance - payment + deposit
