I have set up a mail merge which pull figures from an Excel spreadsheet and
displays them in a Word document.

The figures inputted into the spreadsheet are to two decimal places, though
the cell formatting means that they are displayed as being to no decimal
places.

I want the same rounded figure to appear in my Word files, unfortunately the
mail merge is ignoring the formatting and displaying the two decimal place
figure. Is there anyway around this? I don't mind permanently losing the two
decimal places in Excel if this is neccessary.

Hi,

Instead of doing mail merge from Excel to Word, make it Word to Word. Copy
the data from Excel and paste it in Word and open this Word file as source
data. Formatting will be preserved. This is what I do, though there are
some options I found in previous posts.

That's certainly an option which I'll use as a last resort. I'm wondering if
there are any solutions in Excel as I will need to be updating figures in the
source document.

Is it possible to make the cell formatting 'permanent' ie. the actual
figures in the cells change in line with the formatting.

Or perhaps in Word. Can I change the formatting in Word so it displays as
xero decimal places?
