I have a large workbook of some 50 worksheets. This workbook is used to
mailmerge to Word to produce various documents, so is also set up as a data source. Each sheet has a large number of calculations in various columns. As I find that I need to amend existing formulae and/or add additional columns at times: Is there a simple way of amending, say Column 1, Worksheet 1, and this automatically updating Column 1 in all the other sheets - WITHOUT messing up any of the important data. I have been doing this by copying my amendments and then pasting to each succesive sheet, but this is now becoming unmanageable due to the number of sheets. Best advice please - You've been very helpful in the past!! |

Generally speaking if select ALL sheets by right clicking any sheet tab and
selecting all sheets and then change something on one sheet excel will change all others also. Easy enough? -- Don Guillett SalesAid Software "Graham" wrote in message ... Hi
you can "group" sheets so that a change made on one sheet is made directly on all grouped sheets. to group all sheets - click on the first sheet tab, hold down shift, click on the last sheet tab - or right mouse click on a sheet tab and choose "select all sheets" to group selected sheets, click on the first sheet tab you want, hold down control, click on the next, keep control key down while clicking on the other tabs to group once the sheets are grouped, whatever you edit will be edited in the same cell in all the grouped sheets. So if you make a change in cell C1 of sheet1 all other groups sheets will have the same change made. NOTE: be sure to ungroup the sheets (click on a sheet tab, or right mouse click an choose "ungroup sheets") before doing other stuff :) ALSO please try this first on a back up of your workbook.
