Default Keyboard shortcut in excel

For some reason the keyboard shortcuts does not work. Example, CTRL+A is
supposed to select all of the worksheet. Nothing happens, nothing is
selected.

I currently have Excel 2002 SP3 on Windows XP SP1 on a desktop. It only
happens when I log in. No matter what desktop I go to, the shortcuts don't
work.

Any help will be appreciated.

If this is the only shortcut that "doesn't work" then no problem.

In Excel 2003 they have changed the behaviour of CTRL + a

CTRL + a selects the current region only.

CTRL + a(twice) selects the entire worksheet.

But....you did mention keyboard shortcuts(plural) so perhaps there are others?
