Measurements in cells?
Is there a formula to display text in cell as abbreviated measurements?
Ex. I type - 18 18 Cell is displayed as - 18" x 18" I type 12 6.5 Cell is displayed as - 12" x 6 1/2" |

Amy,
If it's not too late, put the two measurements in separate cells. Having to separate them in your formulas is doable, but a bit messy. You might rather just hit yourself on the head with a bat, which you might feel like doing if you've already entered a lot of these combined into one cell. If you have, post back, and we'll talk about using Data - Text to Columns to split them. Life will be much nicer. -- Earl Kiosterud www.smokeylake.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "Amy Lyn" <Amy wrote in message ... I agree, put your width and length in two columns. gives you lots of
options. You could then put them in a single column with whatever format you like. assuming measurments are in a1 and b1 =A1&" in x "&B1&" in" to show 18 in x 14 in in the column you want to display "Earl Kiosterud" wrote: Amy, If it's not too late, put the two measurements in separate cells. Thank you both, your answers were very helpful. Luckily I haven't entered any
data, just in the design phase. "widman" wrote: I agree, put your width and length in two columns. gives you lots of options.
