excel 2003 formatting toolbar
whenever i use my formatting toolbar (bold, font, color etc.) i now get an
error report request and a recovery file is added to the original file. |

Just a guess.
I would change printers (or install a new printer driver). i am not trying to print. just changing the way cells are formatted.

Yep.
