How do I covert old Lotus 123 files with an .123 extension to Excel?

Excel can't open *.123 files.
If you have 123, you should try saving the file as an Excel file in 123.
If that's not an option, you'll need a commercial converter such as

Ken Wright

If you can get them saved down as .wk4 files (Lotus format prior to .123) as
opposed to .123 then Excel can open them directly.
