If you don't have Excel installed, you can't open Excel files. MS
does provide a free viewer that will allow you to view and print, but not modify, and xls file. See http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en Don't open the file directly from the DVD. First, copy the file from the DVD to your hard drive, and then open the file from there. -- Cordially, Chip Pearson Microsoft MVP - Excel Pearson Software Consulting, LLC www.cpearson.com "QUINN" wrote in message ... |

Most other spreadsheet programs will open .XLS files these days, though with varying degrees of success in preserving formatting and array formulas. OpenOffice.org does the best job among the free/open source offerings. http://www.openoffice.org |
