Form in Excel
I have created a form in excel. I would want to "lock" the form so I can
send it to other people but they can only fill in certain fields and they can not change anything else (layout, formulas,...) Thanks. Deborah |

Form in Excel
- Right click on your file name in "Project explorer" window
- Select "Project Properties" - Goto "Protection" Tab - Check "Lock project for viewing" - Give any password if you want - Create a button for opening your form from "Excel" in one of the toolbars. *** Please do rate *** "Deborah" wrote: I have created a form in excel. Form in Excel
Tools Protection Allow users to edit ranges
Define the cells you want them to be able to change in this window. Click the Permissions button to define who can change it. If anyone, type "Everyone". Once you're done defining parts that can change, click Protect Sheet. You can then email it and they should only be able to change ranges defined by you. "Deborah" wrote in message ... Form in Excel
Deborah
By "form" do you mean a UserForm or just a series of cells on a worksheet? If the latter....................... By default all cells are locked when the sheet is protected. Hit CRTL + A(twice if xl2003) then FormatCellsProtection. Uncheck "locked" and OK. Select the cells you wish to lock and FormatCellsProtection. Check "locked" and OK. Now ToolsProtectionProtect Sheet. This is mandatory!! You can set a password to unprotect. These can easily be broken in Excel but will keep your formulas from being accidentally overwritten.
