Default In the Options window how to create new custom lists

- Goto "Tools- Options- Custom Lists (Tab)"
- Click on "NEW LIST" in "Custom lists" list box
- In the "List entries" box type the list you want click "Add" button

OR

- Type a list in excel you want and select it from above dialog box
in "Import list from cells" text box, click import.

"Custom format" is not possible.

Naveen answered your first question about custom lists.

The second question can be answered by........

Yes, you can create a new custom format but it will be available only for the
workbook in which it is saved.

If you want it to be available for all new workbooks, create a template and use
that as the basis for all new workbooks.

Open a new workbook. Customize your as you wish. Note, to have all sheets
formatted to not show zeros, select one sheet tab and "Select all Sheets" to do
all sheets at once.

FileSave As Type: scroll down to Excel Template(*.XLT) and select. Name your
workbook "BOOK"(no quotes). Excel will add the .XLT to save as BOOK.XLT.

Store this workbook in the XLSTART folder usually located at........

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

This will be the default workbook for FileNew or the Toolbar button FileNew

Do not use FileNew...Blank Workbook or you will get the Excel default workbook.

NOTE: Existing workbooks are not affected by these settings.

You can also open a new workbook and delete all but one sheet. Customize as
you wish then save this as SHEET.XLT in XLSTART folder also. It now becomes
the default InsertSheet.

More can be found on this in Help under "templates"(no quotes).
