why does saved doc get deleted word by word
whenever i write a document in word, it usually gets deleted alphabet by
alphabet.even a saved document gets deleted in this way when i open it pl advise as i have to work at home and it is difficult to do so without wasting so much precious time i am using windows xp |

I would run a virus checker as soon as possible

I agree with bj, this sounds like the work of a virus. Even if you have an
anti-virus application on your computer, get some 'second opinions'. Reputable online system scans are available at these sites: TrendMicro's Housecall: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ Symantec (Norton) on line scan: http://security.symantec.com/ssc/hom...NBRFNJSVSTIVVB Panda Anti-Virus scanning http://www.pandasoftware.com/product...ACHEHINT=Guest BitDefender site: http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html If you don't have anti-virus software installed, then get some yesterday <g! If budget is a consideration, there are good free ones available such as Avast! http://www.avast.com/ Grisoft's AVG from http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ Budget permitting, I can recommend the following as being some of the best: Kaspersky Anti-Virus: http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/t...erskyantivirus (free trial version available - excellent product, on all of my systems) NOD32 from http://nod32.softwaresecuritysolutio...FQgoJAodqFVgAQ While you may not have heard of either, they are both superb products and actually may offer added security through their seeming anonymity. A recent study by ZDNet revealed that the top 3 anti-virus products are often specifically targeted by viruses and trojans to be gotten around, making them potentially ineffective against newer malware released into the wild?
