Default Shared Workbook inexplicably grows in size

I have shared a workbook (Tools, Share Workbook) on a network drive and I
have disabled "Track changes". The file starts out at ~2MB and over the
course of a day, grows to over ~20MB! No rows or columns of data (or even
formulas) are being added to the workbook. Users are simply updating
existing data. Can anyone tell me why the file size is growing so
dramatically? Thanks in advance for any help.
Bob
