Default Editing Spreadsheets Remotely

I was wondering if it was possible to edit spreadsheets remotely. I know
this could be done using php&mysql, but as it is creating an editable
database is not a viable solution. I could also make an FTP server I
guess. Is there a way to edit and save spreadsheets remotely that is
more intuitive?

Google is experimenting with an online spreadsheet.

If your expectations aren't too high, maybe it'll be sufficient:

Great idea. I have actually heard of and used Google Spreadsheets
before, I guess I was just stuck in a rut with my thinking. Thanks for
the good advice, I think this might work for what I'm trying to do.
