Default Password Prompt With Read Only Option

Is there a way to password protect an Excel document, but allow for READ ONLY
access if the user doesn't know the password?

Default Password Prompt With Read Only Option

Just save the file as 'Read Only'
Go File Save As Tools (on the right of the dialogue box) General
Options Choose 'Password To Modify' Follow the prompts for the password
and that's it done,
Regards,
Alan.

File|SaveAs|Tools|General Options
Give it a (memorable!) password to modify.

(Don't use the password to open.)
