![]() Hi, I have several workbooks which are linked together with various formulas. Once all the workbooks are opened on my PC everything works great but when I send the workbooks to someone else even though they save them and open them properly on their PC, the links look for workbooks on my PC. Is this a common problem? What am I missing and what can I do so that these workbooks open and work on another's PC the same way they work on mine. Thank you -- IowaTracy ------------------------------------------------------------------------ IowaTracy's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=37395 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=570777 |

If the formulas which reference other workbooks are using filepaths specific
to your pc, then when someone on another pc tries to use the workbook, Excel won't know how to link the various cells. Also there are a number of formulas, such as INDEX, COUNTIF, etc. which don't work if they reference closed workbooks. Without knowing the formulas that are not working it's hard to diagnose the issue. "IowaTracy" wrote: Hi, I have several workbooks which are linked together with various formulas. ![]() Thanks Dave for the reply. I have confirmed that the user is opening up the associated workbooks. Sounds like just re-linking with the correct information such as drive letter, path, etc. should do the trick. Problem is that working with people halfway across the country who are not PC savy is tricky. Thanks again... Is the workbook stored on a network drive that all users have access to?
If so, then they should only open the workbook when it is stored in that shared drive. Make sure your users aren't saving the workbook to their local drive.
