Searched the forum but couldn't find this particular problem:
I have Excel 2003 at work and Excel 2002 at home and regularly take excel files home to work on. Recently I've been unable to open the files at home. Excel shows an error message that says "Excel has encountered a problem and has to close". I've been doing this for over a year and its only in the last week or two that this has started to happen. I can go back to an earlier version of a file and it will open, but newer versions of the same file created since about 20 July won't. Although I'm not 100% certain it seems to be files with macros that won't open, but disabling the macros by holding down shift when I try to open the file doesn't help. Can anyone sugest what might be causing this, and do I overcome it? Thanks, Ken G. |
