Default an extra "+" sign in formula

hi there,
when you have a formula that runs like that =+D13/100 ,then what does
that 'plus' sign stand for? What is it for, actually?

Means it was probably imported from Lotus. You can delete it.

It doesn't do anything.

Your formula is equivalent to:
=d13/100

Lots of people came from Lotus where formulas started with + and they've
combined it with excel's =.

I think it's a "carry over" from Lotus 123 but in Excel it's redundant!
