Default % of subtotal in pivot table

I read the posting on abovementioned in the website and understand this is a
shortfall in excel. I am still not clear how to calculate % of
subtotal(instead of grand total) as the examples shown was for % of grand
total, % of a fixed field but none showing % of subtotal
