Default how do I join month(#) in col a and day(#) in column b to a date?

As I have e.g. 2 in col A and 5 in col B I would like to join the 2 numbers
to the date 2/5 in col C.

In excel you can't have a date without a year (although it can be
displayed without) so, assuming this year. Assuming you mean 2nd May
not 5th Feb then in C1

=DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),B1,A1)

format how you like
