Default Uploading Excel file on-line

Is it possible to upload an excel document to a web-host and to allow
certain users to edit the file real-time? I have a database of
employees, and it would be wonderful if certain employees could simply
go to our website and change certain values -without- having to
re-upload the modified file using FTP and so on.

In other words, i need the user to go to the website, enter their
login, edit the file, and simply log out.

Is this easily possible?

Google has this. I'm using it for something similar.

Take a look at spreadsheets.google.com
