Will excel allow me to display font upside down, or backwards in a cell?

Depending on what the text is for, you could use Word Art to turn it
upside down.

Insert Picture Word Art

Then in the gallery, choose the one in the top left corner (unless of
course you want something fancy!). Type your text, then right-click on
the generated Word Art, choose 'Format Word Art', then in the 'Size'
tab, choose 'Rotate' and enter 180. That'll turn it upside-down.

Getting it backwards might be a bit more difficult. You could perhaps
download a font that is by its very nature backwards - a Google search
might bring something up.
