What is the difference between a Pivot Table and a Filter. From an
"introductory" point of view, they seem to do basically the same thing. When would I want to use one over the other? Thanks. |

I currently use Pivot tables but last used Filter several years ago.
Pivot table are useful where the analysis is straight forward. Filtering allows inclusion / exclusion of any number of fields and by the value in the field so it is more comprehensive. To my mind Filtering is easier to construct and also easier to check and change parameters. Regards. Bill Ridgeway Computer Solutions wrote in message oups.com...
