Default date format

hi, im sure this is a silly question, but its driving me nuts. i need
to enter a string of dates in a column. i want them to appear
01/01/2001. i formated the cells with the date format, but when i type
in 010101 it formates to really wierd things, like 08/12/1955. do i
have to put the slashes in, or is there a way for it to do it for me?

thanks

Default date format

If you already have the formatting set you should only have to enter the
date such as 1jul which will produce 07/01/2006. If you want any other
year other than 06 you will have to enter the year also as in 1jul04
which would then give you 07/01/2004. Again depends on the way you have
it formatted as to how it appears. Hope this helps.

Default date format

Either use the slashes or VBA code if you wish to enter 010101 as a date.

Chip Pearson has code at his site.
