Default How can I get several graphs on one Excel page?

I'm trying to get four graphs of equal size on one page of Excel. I want them
to display in the four quarters of the page. When I try to make the second
graph match the first one, it comes out tiny with a big space around.
Resizing them is then subject to hit-and-miss. Is there any way to get this
to happen neatly and automatically? Thanks.

I assume you're placing the charts onto a worksheet. You can line the
charts up with the cell boundaries if you hole ALT while moving and
resizing the charts.

If you think ahead, you should make the first chart, and get it all
formatted the way you like it. Then make a copy of the chart; I like to
hold CTRL while dragging the chart to the new location. Finally, change
the data source, using the Source Data command from the Chart menu, and
the Series tab: change the range indicated in the boxes for each series.

This way you are not changing the size of chart elements after setting
them in the first chart.

Thanks Jon!

I have accomplished the key part of this, which is changing the data series.
What a good idea! Cheers.

However, I'm having trouble with the other, more basic aspects of your
advice. Copying a graph within the page seems not to happen (the best I can
get is a duplicate line on the same graph!), because the 'copy' function is
not lit up when I click on the graph, although this part should be easy. And
I've been putting the graphs in a clean chart page; if I try putting them
into a ruled 'sheet' they come out all tiny with big wording.

If you or anyone could just fill in the gaps for me, I would be so grateful!

Many thanks,

Bethany.

Right!! I think I've got it. The trick was to make the graphs full size
first, and to resize them later; making a small graph to start with merely
leaves white opaque space around the edge. Likewise to copy I can then copy
the whole page, not just the graph axes area which does'nt work.

This has been great advice, thanks.

Yes, you have to do ALL the formatting in the first chart, otherwise it's impossible
to make all the changes the same way to each chart.

Then you need to select the chart area before copying, as you've discovered, which
is the rectangular area that contains all of the individual elements of the chart.

I'll have to try to remember to describe these steps more clearly.
