Default Is this possible?? Help with charting...

Using Excel 2k3...

Ok, I have a basic set of data, detailing cash values by month, for a period
of several years. Here's what I'm working toward, but haven't been able to
get it to work.

I'd like to be able to group a series of values (for example, June of one
year through May of the next) on the chart as a SINGLE bar. As another
option, I'd like all bars of a single calendar year to be the same color,
even though they're different data elements...

Thoughts? Thanks!
Jack

for the first question, can you just sum the data and plot it that way?
for the second, a simple way is to plot the data as a stacked chart and
have the different years be diferent data sets with 0s for the times not in
that year.
