Default Two issues with axis labeling

I have been having a few issues with getting my figure just right in excel. My two main issues are as follows:

1. Is there a way to use scientific notation for all y-axis values except zero? It just looks silly.

2. For my current figure the data points range from 440-700. I was wondering if it is possible to have the first tick mark start at 450 and then proceed in increments of 50 for major tick marks and 25 for minor. I currently have the tick marks in the correct increments but they start at 440 and end at 690. I would prefer to have the first tick mark 10 units to the right of the origin.

I attached a visual of the graph in question. I can always use Kaleidagraph but I would prefer to just do it in excel since that's where all the data is.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Here is how to do the first part. Format the axis - Number - Custom
- 0E+00;#;#,### - Add. This gives the formatting for
positive;negative;zero

For the second part, I'm not entirely sure what you mean but it looks
like Format the axis - Minimum Fixed 450 - Maximum Fixed 700 - Major
Unit Fixed 50 - Minor Unit Fixed 25 - Minor Tick Marks Outside.

This is 2007 but other versions should do the same. xt
