Default chart labels?

I am looking for a way to keep from losing characters when aligning y-axis
labels vertically. If I reduce the font size, it will often allow, but then
the chart looks bad.

One option would be to replace the chart generated Y-axis labels with text
boxes. Text boxes allow you greater control over the size.
