Cant delete user defined default chart type

Under Chart Type, Custom Types. Select User defined option at bottom. Then,
select all the charts you want to remove and hit the delete key. Note that if
you delete the "default" chart, original defaults are restored.

Cant delete user defined default chart type

In the dialogue, after selecting "user defined" as the type of charts I want
to look at, I see two buttons. One for "add" to add current selected chart to
the list, and "delete" to remove from list. Is your version of XL not
displaying these?

No its not. I have Cancel, Back (greyed out) Next and Finish only. I think
i may have to reinstall Excel to fix this

Hmm, I was able to duplicate your problem when clicking the "create chart"
button from toolbar. Possible workaround:

Create some type of dummy chart. (doesn't matter what it is, just need a
chart). Right-click on chart, and go to Chart Type. Again, go to Custom
Types, and then pick "user defined". The Add/Delete buttons should now appear!
