Default Excel chokes when printing multiple charts per page

I have built an excel 2007 file which contains 7-graphs per print page.
Graphs are for Sunday through Saturday and they are simple line graphs.
There are a total of 54-pages of graphs covering many different work areas.
The entire file size is around 10Mb and all graphed data is contained on a
single tab.
Problem - When I select "File, Print, Entire Workbook" excel starts building
a swapfile in the Windows Printer Properties dialogue box which grows to
about 650Mb, takes about 1-hour to complete the printing operation while
freezing all resources on the PC. This excel file was built fresh in v2007.

I built a similar file in Excel 2003 which contained 7-graphs per print
page, sunday through saturday, and total pages was 67. File size was in the
15Mb range. In Excel 2003 I would print the entire workbook yielding 69-pages
of graphed data. The entire print job would take about 15-minutes.

How can I improve the way Excel 2007 handels printing large quantities of
graphs?

Hi,

Part of the problem is the graphics quality in 2007 - it is much greater
than in 2003, so much more info must be transfered to your printer.

I am not sure how your printer handles this - if it sends each print page of
and prints it or if it gathers all the info first and then begins. However,
you might create a macro and send each area off as a separate print job, this
might speed things up a little.

I would also define a print range just to be on the safe side and not use
the command to print the Entire Workbook.

If this helps, please click the Yes button.
