Default Pivot Charts $amounts?

Im new to Pivot Charts (Excel 2003) and need help. The goal is to show the
total amount attributed to each university each year.
Row Fields = years
Column Fields = universities
Data Items = $amounts
The result shows the number of times each year funds were attributed to each
university and totals at the bottom. However, it does not show the dollar
amounts. Is there any way to see both? (ex. 50k in years 1,2,3 and 25K in
years 3, 4,5 to X university, totaling 225K in 6 entries to X university)?

Thanks!
