Layering Chart Types
I would like to layer a line graph on a second y axis on top of a "stacked
column" graph with 3 data series in it. Anyone know how to do this? |

Create a stacked column chart with all 4 series in it. Then, select the
series you want to become a line. Go to Chart, Chart type, and pick a line series. Then, again selecting the same series, right-click, format, axis, move to secondary axis -- Best Regards, Luke M *Remember to click "yes" if this post helped you!* "Jeff" wrote: I would like to layer a line graph on a second y axis on top of a "stacked column" graph with 3 data series in it. When i go to chart type, and pick 'line', it changes all of the other series'
to lines also. When i try changing it to line-column, or column-line, it un-stacks the columns. "Luke M" wrote: Create a stacked column chart with all 4 series in it. Make sure you're only selecting the one series. You also have to use the Menu
bar to change Chart type, don't just simply right-click. -- Best Regards, Luke M *Remember to click "yes" if this post helped you!* "Jeff" wrote: When i go to chart type, and pick 'line', it changes all of the other series' to lines also. Layering Chart Types
By layering, do you mean you want the column and line data in separate
panels in the chart? If so, try these: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/StackedCharts.html http://peltiertech.com/Excel/ChartsH...venScales.html - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Peltier Technical Services, Inc. http://PeltierTech.com/WordPress/ _______ "Jeff" <Jeff @discussions.microsoft.com wrote in message ...
