I would like to layer a line graph on a second y axis on top of a "stacked
column" graph with 3 data series in it. Anyone know how to do this?

Create a stacked column chart with all 4 series in it. Then, select the
series you want to become a line. Go to Chart, Chart type, and pick a line
series. Then, again selecting the same series, right-click, format, axis,
move to secondary axis

When i go to chart type, and pick 'line', it changes all of the other series'
to lines also. When i try changing it to line-column, or column-line, it
un-stacks the columns.

Make sure you're only selecting the one series. You also have to use the Menu
bar to change Chart type, don't just simply right-click.

By layering, do you mean you want the column and line data in separate
panels in the chart? If so, try these:
