Default Please keep me from getting fired! file locked

HELP!!!

I was in a file that's read only. My network connection crashed and now
nobody can get into my excel file because it says I have it locked. I see no
temp file in the network folder that contains the file.

People are ready to kill me. What can I try?

If it's a network file, MIS should be able to come up with a
backup...........

Hey, sometimes they do........I once got one that was only three weeks old
<g..........note: it pays to back up your important files on your own
........

But, if you've no other recourse, it wouldn't hurt to check with MIS..

Apologies if I'm missing something here, but can you not just open it up as
read only and then save a copy as a slightly different name, then just blitz
the old one and rename if you want? The file being locked would normally
only stop someone editing it, not opening it.
