I have a Pivot Table Chart that is showing the red, amber and green status of
accounts. But everytime I refresh my data I loose the chart colours so I
have to change the colours back to red, amber and green. Is there a way of
locking those colours so that when I refresh the data the colour formatting
isn't lost?

You could customize your workbook's palette colours
Tools, Options, Color

I guess you may want to customize the first three in 6th row of the palette,
chart fills.

Having done that you shouldn't need to reformat your chart colours.
