Default Paste new SERIES() in formula bar

I want to consolidate pairs of charts into one chart with two series, call
them A and B. Rather than doing the work all over to add series B to chart
A, I would simply like to copy B's SERIES() function in the formula bar and
paste it into A's formula bar.

While working in a formula bar is often a convenient way to change an
existing series, I have not found a way to add a new series to a chart. Can
it be done, and how?

Default Paste new SERIES() in formula bar

Copy the series formula, select the plot area of the other chart, click in
the formula bar, paste the series formula, and click Enter. Note, if this
series formula is for series 1, it will take position 1 in the new chart,
moving the other series back in the order. However, before you click Enter,
you can edit the pasted formula, so change to a higher plot index).

An alternative is to copy one chart, select the second, and use Paste
Special with the Formulas option. This pastes all series in the copied chart
after all series in the chart they are pasted into.

Default Paste new SERIES() in formula bar

If you go into A, the up and down arrow keys will step through the various
series in the chart, and also through things like chart area and plot area.
If you do that so that the formula bar is blank and so that the name box to
the left of the formula bar is showing something like chart area or plot
area, then if you paste B's SERIES() function into the formula bar it will
add that as an extra series to chart A.
