Saving a Chart
Suppose I have a chart with, for example, data in it as follows (source data):
A1:A20 Every so often, I REWRITE over that same range new data...and create a new chart!! HOW CAN I SAVE MY PRE-EXISTING CHART, i.e. WITH THE OLD DATA?? Thanks, flkulchar |

Saving a Chart
Looks like your caps lock button is stuck.
You can: 1. copy the sheet that contains the chart and its data, so you maintain a live historical chart (connected to real data) and add data to the copied sheet. 2. copy the chart and unlink it from the data: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/ChartsH...ChartData.html 3. copy a picture of the chart (hold shift, select the Edit menu, use Copy Picture, select the On Screen and Picture options) and paste it in the sheet. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. - http://PeltierTech.com _______ "F. Thank you for all the help...however, I am having trouble "unlinking a chart". I, first, copy the chart by highlighting the cells around it, and press Ctrl C... then, i click on the series, go to the formula bar, click, and press f9... I get the data values of my series... then if i hit Ctrl V in another workbook, I do NOT get a copy... rather, just the un-ability to paste!! seem to be having trouble unlinking a chart...once I copy the chart, and then F9 the formula bar, etc. (wind up with referenced data instead of range references), I cannot paste the "unlinked" chart.. I get the data values of my series... then if i hit Ctrl V in another workbook, I do NOT get a copy... rather, just the un-ability to paste!!
