Default my chart is grey when not clicked on it. why?

In Excel, my chart becomes grey when not clicked on it (making it impossible
to print, as far as I know). Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Using XP,
Excel '03.

Thanks!

You need to set Object to Show All.

Tools Options View Objects Show All
