different color for 1 series
I am using Excell 2003
I need to create a bar chart for a 2 year period on a straight line. Do not want to have a bar chart that shows Jan 2006 and jan 2007 next to each other. Do want a bar chart that shows the data by month (jan, feb, mar, april etc for 2006) then jan, feb, mar, april etc for 2007). I hope you understand what I am talking about. The "X axis labels" are correct. They show Jan 06 thru Dec and then Jan 07 thru Dec but because the data is all from one series all of the bar colors are one color. I would like to make the 2007 portion of the series a different color. Is there a way to do this? aurora |

It's a patchwork job, but you could used stacked bars. Make 2 series and
populate the first series with your 2006 data, then 12 zeroes, then the second one with 12 zeroes and then your 2007 data. Then you just have to make your legend manually. Still patchwork, but much straightforward for the restricted number of
months: after creating a basic one color bar chart for both years, select step by step each bar of one chosen year by a delayed left double-click on each single bar, on the next right click always select from the pop-up menu the format of each selected €śdata point€ť, and change the color. This slave work can be further simplified only by a macro. -- Petr "Aurora" wrote: I am using Excell 2003 I need to create a bar chart for a 2 year period on a straight line.
