I have a chart with two trendlines already showing, but when I try to add a
third trendline (for a third series), it won't show in the chart. It does show in the Legend, but not in the chart. Anyone have any idea what causes this? |

Actually, I found my answer in the thread below titled "some charts will not
show trendlines", dated 6/6/06. Thanks Andy! http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...xp=&sloc=en-us "Chris Lawton" wrote: I have a chart with two trendlines already showing, but when I try to add a third trendline (for a third series), it won't show in the chart. Hmmm.... You're right. I'm not sure how to get a link to take you right to
the post. You can find it by searching for the keyword "Trendline" right below the "Discussions in Excel Charts" heading. The thread is dated 6/6/2006. The information that solved my problem was in this post: "Hi Norman, The problem is that the missing trend lines are not within the x scale you are currently displaying. Because the series lines are on the secondary axis and you have not supplied the range of secondary x axis values the chart is defaulting to using 1,2,3,4,5,6...... for the category (X) values. As the x axis is in fact dates the range of x values is 38497 to 38874. If you use the same range reference for the secondary axis category as the primary you trendlines will pop in to view. Use the Source Data option when you right click the chart to change this. You might want to look at this page which explains how to remove items from the legend, which will save you having to build your own. http://www.andypope.info/charts/deletelegendentry.htm Cheers Andy" "Jon Peltier" wrote: Your link doesn't indicate the post with the answer. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. - http://PeltierTech.com _______ "Chris Lawton" wrote in message ...
