Default DataLabel Overlap

I've written a program that produces a chart from worksheet vaules. There are
so many points that the labels overlap in areas and it is critical that they
not. Is there any method other than manual drag-drop I can use to not have
overlap? such as some sort of 'overlap' value? (excel 2007)

Thanks
